Karatou Post Bac 2.0.8

The Karatou-Post Bac application aims to streamline access to information regarding the various academic pathways available after completing secondary education. It provides guidance on application procedures for different countries, showcases example career paths, and details available scholarships.

This project was developed based on personal experiences and a thorough reflection on the needs of young Africans. I recall that after completing my baccalaureate, my classmates and I faced significant challenges in choosing a suitable academic direction. We lacked comprehensive information about post-secondary options for science streams and often did not know where to find reliable guidance. As a result, many of us defaulted to parental influence when selecting our fields of study. For instance, I considered studying accounting like my father, despite having little knowledge of the field. He advised against it, considering my strong interest in new technologies. This realization led me to identify a clear gap: young people need accessible information to make informed decisions about their education and career paths.

Observing the high engagement of young Africans, particularly Nigerians, with social media and smartphones, I envisioned developing an application that can serve as a practical resource for university-bound students. The goal is to empower them with reliable information and reduce the confusion often associated with higher education choices.
